PMU Brows FAQs
What is the difference between Micro-Blading and Ombré Powder Brows?
Microblading and Ombré Powder are two forms of eyebrow micropigmentation and should be executed by a licensed permanent makeup technician. Both procedures are ideal for those who have sparse, uneven, light-colored brows, and/or little to no brows eyebrows whether caused by over-plucking, medical conditions or just having less brow hair.

Microblading is a technique achieved by creating precise 'hair-like' incisions that deposit dye in the top layer of the brow, which allows for the appearance of hair on the brows. Microblading is meant to create a very soft and wispy looking full and shaped brow.
Ombré Powder Brows (also known as Powder Brows) is a technique achieved by depositing pigment onto the top layers of the skin. This process is completed by manually shading in a Pre-Drawn shape of the client’s desired brows with an electric tool and needle in a back and forth motion. This creates a powdered look that resembles makeup, which in most cases heals to a natural finish. Ombré Powder Brows is perfect for all skin types.

What can I expect for my first appointment?
Please note, depending on the condition of your brows, your appointment may last 2-4 hours. As each brow is specifically tailored to the client's face, if you suffer from alopecia or have very spare or minimal existing brows your appointment may last up to 4 hours.
Please review www.tanirahbeauty.com/care for information on pre-appointment care.
Is Ombré Powder a tattoo?
Permanent makeup is considered a form of micropigmentation (a method of depositing hypoallergenic mineral pigments into the epidermal layer of the skin. ) A tattoo deposits ink to the skin creating a permanent change to the tattooed area. The Ombré Powder Brow is achieved by depositing ink to the outermost layers of the skin, the ink is expected to gradually fade over time as skin cells regenerate.
Is the service painful?
At Tanirah Beauty we use a 2 step topical anesthetic that numbs the procedure site. Clients should very little to zero pain only slight pressure depending on their pain tolerance level.
Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure. Please note that clients with extremely sensitive skin or clients who are menstruating may experience more discomfort than others.
How long will the Ombré Powder Brows last?
Factors such as skin care, skin type, lifestyle and proper aftercare may cause the brows may to heal 40-90% lighter and shrink 10-20% than the colour and shape at the initial service. As many permanent makeup services require 2 sessions, to achieve optimal results, it is always suggested that clients have a touch-up service after 6 weeks. The touch-up is crucial to the longevity of your brows. This service helps to redefine your shape and colour after your initial procedure has healed. This service also provides the opportunity to make slight adjustments to your initial shape and colour. Please note this service is only available to existing clients that have had Ombré Powder completed at Tanirah Beauty
After your touch-up service, the Ombré Powder brows are expected to last between 1 to 3 years. Please note that this is solely dependant on the client's long-term aftercare of the brows, skin type and lifestyle. Frequent use of creams, serums and cleansers containing lightening agents such as Retinols, AHAs, BHAs and acids directly on the brows will cause the pigments to fade more quickly.

Clients with oily skin types may also experience quicker fading as the skin's natural oils help to push the pigment from the skin faster than clients who have dry to normal skin.
